From Single to Married with Kids: 3 Godly Lessons for Finding Love God’s Way

I can’t believe it has been 8 years since I last posted here. Back in 2011, I started this blog as a single Christian woman wrestling with the dating scene in New York, pouring my heart out to help other women find their worth in Christ while offering Godly lessons for finding love. Now, I’m married, a mom to a beautiful baby boy, and a bonus mom to two awesome kids. If you’d told me back then I’d be here, I am not sure I would have believed you. But God is faithful and my life is a testimony that God is still working. (Psalm 37:4).

Dating was rough back when I was single, and from what I hear, it has only gotten worse. But God is still on the throne, and His plan for your love triumphs over any dating chaos. Over the past 8 years I have gone through heartache, health issues, feeling lost and so many life lessons; but I also met my husband and had the joy of welcoming my son. Through It all I honestly got lost and stopped doing the things I love. One of those things was writing and I am ready to start again. This post offers Christian dating advice for women, sharing 3 Godly lessons that guided me from single to married, triumphing over dating chaos. Whether you’re single, dating, or married, this is about getting your ‘kisses’ back—because life’s chaos was never meant to steal your freedom in Him.

Here are 3 Godly lessons for finding love that I learned on my journey from single to married with kids:

  1. Trust God’s Timing (Ecclesiastes 3:1)
Dating in NY & LA had me questioning everything. I wanted love on my terms, but waiting—praying through the loneliness—led me to my husband. Trust there’s “a time for everything.” Journal your prayers to stay patient and open to God’s path.
  2. Find Your Worth in Christ (Psalm 139:14)
I used to seek validation in guys and relationships, but God showed me I’m “fearfully and wonderfully made.” That truth reshaped how I dated and saw myself. Reflect on this scripture daily—it’s a lifeline for confidence, single or married.
  3. Set Boundaries to Guard Your Heart (1 Corinthians 13:4–7)
I ignored red flags early on, and it hurt. Godly boundaries—saying no to unhealthy patterns—paved the way to true love. Pray for wisdom to set emotional and spiritual limits before dating.

This blog is back to help you find love God’s way and get your “kisses” back—because life’s chaos was never meant to steal your freedom in Him. Share your story in the comments on what’s one thing holding you back from love.
